Keeping your skin smooth, glowing and free of acne can be pretty expensive when using store bought products. Luckily there are many home remedies when you are considering how to get rid of acne. Spread on a clean face, rinse off after 20 minutes and pat dry. You can also mix tea tree oil with aloe vera. Add 1-2 drops for each ounce of aloe vera, apply to a clean face for 20 minutes and rinse off.

If your skin is plagued by red acne scars you can use nutmeg to clear these scars. Mix one half teaspoon of nutmeg with a quarter teaspoon of honey. Apply to acne scars and leave for 20-30 minutes. You can also follow up with aloe vera.

As with any food or skin product you should always test any of these methods on a small area of skin to make sure none will cause an allergic reaction or any other irritation.
