Do Not Let Smooth Skin Be Hindered By Treatment Road Blocks

Keeping your skin smooth, glowing and free of acne can be pretty expensive when using store bought products. Luckily there are many home remedies when you are considering how to get rid of acne. Several methods to care for your skin include food products as well as other common household products that will leave skin clear, soft and healthy.

Food remedies for skin sound a bit odd but they can be quite effective. These should be used on a clean, dry face. Spread a mashed banana on your face and leave it for 20 minutes. Rinse with cold water for a glowing complexion. You can also do the same thing with honey or honey mixed with an egg white. Papaya rubbed on the face and neck will also give you a healthy glow. Leave it for 15 minutes and rinse. The same can be done with fresh mashed tomatoes or yogurt.

Eating the right foods will also help you to achieve clear skin. Foods you can eat for great skin include those that are nutrient rich and high in Vitamins A and C as well as rich with antioxidants. Some great, tasty examples are sweet potatoes, tomatoes, citrus fruits like lemons, limes and oranges, spinach and other dark greens and high omega-3 acid rich foods like fish or omega-3 fortified eggs.

A major factor to consider when learning how to get rid of acne is closing and reducing pores. An easy way to do this is to use ice. Wash your face with warm water and mild soap and follow up by rubbing an ice cube all over your face, then pat dry.

A facial steam can be effective as well. Boil six cups of water and put it into a large bowl. Add a few tablespoons each of chopped fresh peppermint and sage as well as a half teaspoon of basil. Not only will this reduce open pores, but it is also helpful in the relief of stress, which among other physical benefits will also help your skin.

Masks can be made from household products as well. One such mask can be made by combining baking soda with a few drops of water and mixing to a paste consistency. Spread on a clean face, rinse off after 20 minutes and pat dry. You can also mix tea tree oil with aloe vera. Add 1-2 drops for each ounce of aloe vera, apply to a clean face for 20 minutes and rinse off.

If your skin is plagued by red acne scars you can use nutmeg to clear these scars. Mix one half teaspoon of nutmeg with a quarter teaspoon of honey. Apply to acne scars and leave for 20-30 minutes. You can also follow up with aloe vera.

As with any food or skin product you should always test any of these methods on a small area of skin to make sure none will cause an allergic reaction or any other irritation.
